A distinctive damp smell will linger throughout the house. Stained patches of paint indicate water/damp ingress. Often the paint will bubble, crack and flake of leaving a powder deposit. Damp may be intermittent, only spreading when water is present in the soil by rain or a faulty drain. Blocked or broken guttering maybe facilitating water to ingress the masonry above the damp proof course and damp problems will develop spasmodically over the years.

Woodworm is often evident by small deposits of sawdust beneath the timbers of the house , be it in the roof, the floors or even the internal walls if unchecked the parasite will eventually eat you out of your home!

An Existing cellar or vault may become flooded due to seasonal fluctuations in the water table height or possibly broken underground drains. All property below ground level is at potential risk of water damage or total loss.
